Grants

“The Bucks County Autism Support Coalition strives to maximize the personal development of individuals with ASD through awareness and advocacy, education and training.” This mission statement encompassed the focus of our organization. Our goal is not to reinvent the wheel, but provide support for those who have created organizations, activities, and groups that support this mission.

The BCASC has created three different types of grants for those organizations that are aligned with the mission and goals of the Coalition. The three types of grants are:

Service Grants: Grants in this category are awarded to organizations to provide financial assistance to families in acquiring services for individuals on the Autism Spectrum. The organizations applying in this category have an established service that parents fund independently. When considering applications from for profit groups, special consideration will be given to those that are willing to provide matching grants to families seeking services.

Start Up Grants: Grants in this category are awarded to organizations to provide funds for start up costs to create a service or activity to support individuals on the Autism Spectrum. For organizations applying for this grant, other financial resources must also be designated as well as a plan for sustainability beyond the BCASC grant.

Expansion Grants: Grants in this category are awarded to organizations to provide funds for expansion of services or opportunities for continued growth of the organizations. This grant is awarded to existing organizations that have a secure financial base and a track record of success. The money from this grant is used for expansion.

The Process:

  1. Grant Applications are made available through our website www.bcasc.org or from members of the BCASC.
  2. Applicants complete and submit the grant application, financial statements, budgets, dates for an interview or visits, and letters of reference electronically to grants@bcasc.org or in hard copy by January 15th to:
    BCASC: Grant Application
    Box 660
    Warrington, PA 18976
  3. A BCASC grant committee or board will review all applications and set up interviews/site visits during the months of January and February.
  4. Grants will be awarded by March 15.

Rules:

  • The BCASC is seeking activities and organizations that support all individuals on the Autism Spectrum; special focus is given to those supporting individuals over 21 in the community.
  • Only complete grant requests will be considered.
  • Grants can be awarded to organizations more than once. Application must be made each year for consideration.
  • Interviews can be done on site or at a mutually agreeable location if a site is not available
  • The amount of money awarded in grants is dependent on the financial activity of the BCASC each year. Up to 80% of income from activities can be awarded in grants. BCASC does not intent to be the sole source of funding for an organization’s activities.
  • Start Up Grants and Expansion Grants can only be given to other non-profit organizations. For profit organizations are only eligible for Service Grants.
  • Grant recipients will be asked to provide a summary of activities performed or services provided with the grant money to be included in our annual report to our members.
  • Grants will be granted to organizations in Bucks County or to organizations supporting a majority of their individuals from Bucks County.
